ABOUT THE CREATOR

My name is Gladys Dauphin Bazan. I live in California and I'm the creator of Sophisticated Bears. there isn't much to say about me, only that I have always liked to design and create. I also like to paint when inspired, but my real passion is to design bears and see them come to life. I'm a self taught artist.

I developed my talent of pattern making by designing Halloween costumes for my kids. They always wanted something different. The designs would be based on whichever characters were popular at that time. One year, all three of my kids won first place at their school's costume parade. The following year, my daughter volunteered me to make the school's mascot. This was a real challenge but in the end, I was really proud of what I had created. Inspired by all those experiences and the encouragement of my husband and my kids, Sophisticated Bears was established. I take pride in my work and find it challenging and rewarding. I use the best material available. Each bear is made with great care and attention to detail. I really enjoy making them! I know that you will appreciate and cherish my creations.
